About Real Magic
What I’ve come to believe after a lifetime of experiencing real magic, approaching it with skepticism and curiosity, and allowing myself to remember.
Slow down, listen:
Magic is THE GOLDEN GLUE, a natural creative force uniting the spiritual with the material and filling our lives with awe. Magic allows reality to harmonize around you. Promoting peace, love, prosperity, and health. If you’re alive, magic is flowing through you. The extent to which you open to MORE MAGIC is your choice. If you choose more, more is what you’ll be given. It is a kindness to open to magic. It is a kindness to believe. For magic creates miracles that ripple around the Earth. So let yourself remember. Let yourself believe. Magic is real.
What is real magic?
Our world is beautiful and complex, full of spiritual and material layers. However, most people are only paying attention to the latter, and even those who believe in the spiritual are mostly only believing on blind faith. But magic helps us actually perceive the spiritual. Magic connects us to it. It is a natural creative force, uniting the spiritual with the material and filling our lives with awe.
What are examples of real magic?
Magic always feels a bit like worlds colliding. Some common examples are: signs, synchronicity, (literal) dreams coming true, precognition, seeing into the past, spirit communication, and the material manifestation of objects and circumstances.
Is it true that everyone is psychic?
Simply being here, embodied on Earth and breathing, is the most basic magic. Beyond that, there is a spectrum of magical experience. Certain kinds of magic appear to be universally accessible (e.g., prayer and receiving signs). Other kinds of magic absolutely seem to be gifts that some people have and others don’t. Every body is different. Your experience of magic is unique to you, and no, I do not believe that everyone is secretly psychic. It’s more nuanced than that.
What are different kinds of magic?
All magic is an expression of capital-m Magic, a.k.a. the natural creative force uniting our world. However, the word “magic” is used when referencing (1) the force, (2) the magical practices used to collaborate with the force (e.g., ritual, prayer, etc.), and (3) the spiritual gifts some people experience as magic moves through them (e.g., clear sight, clear knowing, etc.). Within the practices and gifts, there are many kinds of magic. Far too many to list here.
How does magic relate to religion?
Magic allows each of us to have a direct personal relationship with our spiritual reality. Because of this, magic has inspired many religions, and magic flows through the teachings of many religions, but you don’t need religion to experience magic and connect with the divine. Religions provide well-trodden paths. Magic is pure and pathless. All are welcome here.
Why does magic matter?
The greater the flow of magic in your life, the more life harmonizes around you, creating peace, prosperity, love, good luck, good health, and good news. And because everything is connected, this not only helps you, it helps the entire ecosystem of life on earth.
But also, because everything is connected, hard things can of course still happen for even the most magical people. We are not solipsistic masters of our universe, but we do have a tremendous impact on what happens around us, and the more that each of us opens to magic, the more harmony we will see collectively.
How can I experience more magic?
First and foremost, open to the possibility of magic. Even if you don’t totally believe it, read these words and pretend that you believe them: Magic is real.
Then, try one or more of these simple practices for thirty days: meditation, yoga, prayer, paying attention, slowing down, listening to the world around you, listening to yourself, reading and watching magical stories, and maybe most importantly — maintain space in your schedule for the marvelous and the unexpected.
